I Want Cable Television

I would like to thank the orchestrators of Astro for their unparalleled satellite television service; not. I woke up this Sunday morning all prepared to watch the live telecast of the Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight at the home of a fellow boxing mate, but just before the two fighters were set to get-it-on the Astro service went blank.

It has been clear and sunny all day, so Astro can't use the technical excuse that cloud coverage and heavy rain was responsible for hampering the signal.

This isn't the first time I have missed out on watching a big sporting event due to interrupted service, even when the weather conditions were favorable for receiving a clear signal. Unfortunately, there isn't f**k all that can be done about it, because Astro is a monopoly in Malaysia. One that needs to be broken up.

I'm a firm believer that competition keeps everybody on their toes. It's time for Astro to tippy-toe!
